Many Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving All!!! I hope you had a great day with some lovely people, mine was very low key this year which was very welcomed. It seems every holiday we do a lot of rushing around and at the end of the day we have cranky children and headaches. I still made a big meal for us 4, it just didn't seem like Thanksgiving without a feast...plus, I have plenty of leftovers for the next couple days : )

I woke up bright and early with the kids and while they ate their cereal and OJ I got to making the Turkey, Ina Garten's recipe pulls through again! This has to be the most simplest ingredient recipe with the best outcome. It just shows simple is always better!

Could this Turkey be any prettier!?
Cornbread and Sausage stuffing also made an appearance, not low fat by any means but I only make it twice a year so it's a nice treat.. ingredients consist of sausage, onions, mushrooms, onions, butter, cornbread muffins baked a few days before and crumbled into the mixture a long with chicken stock to bind it all together. Delicious!!!

We also had Corn Casserole, mashed potatoes and of course the meal had to end with pumpkin pie : )

I think one of the perks of making a big dinner, I know for me at least, I don't usually eat that much when it's done. I love food and I love making food look and taste good but I think put to much detail in my food that I lose the urge to eat it all. Sounds odd I know but I'm happy to be overstuffed! I was even able to enjoy a nice run before dinner. It truly was a great day and I am so thankful to have the people I have in my life. Thank you all for following my journey for another year, have a great night!
