Tummy Critter

Since the day after Christmas my family and I have been battling a mean stomach bug!! I guess it's that time of year but it went through all of us (except little man-thank God!!) and we're all finally getting back to normal. I hope you all had an amazing Holiday with loved ones and ate lots of great food! Let me give you a little recap...warning, I went a little picture happy...

Christmas Eve was a simple one at home, hubby had work till 4p.m but was still able to be home for dinner. I made a simple Steak Tip dinner with sauteed Mushrooms, Onions, Peppers in Balsamic Vinegar. So tasty!

Every year we have a Birthday cake for Jesus, it's a nice tradition we started with Ava to remind her of the real meaning of Christmas and this year I had to work so no time for baking but I found a very festive cake that we had for dessert.

Oh and the kids left Santa a piece of cake instead of cookies, just in case he got bored of cookies : )

After dinner, we settled in for some movies and homemade hot chocolate, a perfect ending to the night!

The next morning was excitement and pancakes, is there anything better!?

Look at that face!!! love it.

Alfie, checking out the destruction : )

I am coming to the conclusion that he will never take off his hat- well I lie, he takes it off to sleep and bathe. He also does not understand why shoving crayons in his pocket is not an acceptable Holiday party accessory, can't blame a guy for trying...

Big sister has his back, again I am defeated : P

Christmas dinner was spent the way it should be with lots of good food and lots of family, the night went well except for a toddler meltdown at the end, hence the lack of pictures : /

We also had Corn Pudding, lots of veggies and Macaroni and Cheese, I kept it simple and nibbled on each of everything. I'm proud that I have been able to keep temptation to a minimum this Holiday season. I feel that I have come so far and my kids are learning from every move I make. My little lady who LOVES Macaroni and Cheese even stopped when she was full, she told me " I don't want to eat too much and make myself sick, then I won't enjoy it anymore" It's a great way to look at food, savor and enjoy but don't overdo : )
